This is a well-established, three-doctor small animal hospital designed around a progressive, veterinarian-led model. The practice places a strong emphasis on clinical autonomy, allowing its veterinary team to make decisions based on what is best for patients and clients—without unnecessary corporate restriction.
You’ll be supported by an experienced team of veterinarians and support staff, within a collaborative environment that prioritises high standards of care, continuous learning, and open communication. The wider network provides access to mentorship, resources, and infrastructure, while maintaining the feel and flexibility of a locally led practice.
This model is particularly appealing for veterinarians who value both independence and support, with a clear pathway toward greater leadership and potential ownership.
As Lead Veterinarian, you will play a pivotal role in shaping both the clinical and cultural direction of the hospital.
In this position, you will:
Lead a team of veterinarians and support staff within a three-doctor hospital
Deliver high-quality medical and surgical care, setting the standard for clinical excellence
Maintain full autonomy in clinical decision-making and standards of care
Mentor and develop Associate Veterinarians through hands-on coaching and case collaboration
Foster a positive, feedback-driven culture focused on continuous improvement
Partner with leadership to support hospital performance, team development, and long-term growth
Contribute to recruitment and retention of high-quality veterinary talent
This role is well-suited to a veterinarian who is not only confident clinically, but also motivated to take ownership of team performance, culture, and outcomes—with a view toward future leadership or ownership opportunities.
In addition to your veterinary qualifications, expertise, and experience, we are looking for someone who embodies the following qualities:
Strong clinical capability – confident in both medicine and surgery, with the ability to lead by example
Leadership and mentorship – passionate about developing others and building a cohesive team
Entrepreneurial mindset – interested in contributing to the growth and long-term success of a practice
Compassion and empathy – committed to exceptional patient care and client experience
Collaborative mindset – thrives in a team-oriented, feedback-driven environment
Drive for excellence – motivated to continuously improve standards, systems, and outcomes
Dedicated to maintaining high standards of medical and ethical practice
