This is part of a growing network of independently operated animal hospitals across the United States, built around a mission to empower veterinarians and deliver exceptional patient care. Each location is led by experienced DVMs, with a strong emphasis on clinical autonomy and decision-making at the hospital level.
The model is designed to feel different from traditional corporate structures — prioritising veterinarian-led standards of care, collaboration, and a supportive team culture. You’ll be working alongside a group of talented clinicians who value high-quality medicine, open communication, and continuous improvement.
As Lead Veterinarian, you will split your time between clinical practice (approximately 85%) and leadership responsibilities (15%), allowing you to stay hands-on while making a meaningful impact on the hospital’s performance and culture.
You will:
Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient- and client-centred veterinary care
Work closely with operational leadership on budgeting, staffing, and overall hospital performance, including quarterly KPI reviews
Oversee the implementation of medical standards, protocols, and clinical best practices
Create and manage the doctor schedule to support both hospital needs and team wellbeing
Mentor and develop Associate Veterinarians through coaching, feedback, and case collaboration
Lead daily rounds and organise regular team meetings to foster engagement and alignment
Partner with the Hospital Operations Manager to deliver an exceptional client experience
Support recruitment efforts to attract and retain high-quality veterinary professionals
Act as a representative within the wider veterinary community
This is an ideal role for someone looking to step into leadership without stepping away from clinical work.
In addition to your veterinary qualifications, expertise, and experience, we are looking for someone who embodies the following qualities:
Compassion and empathy – genuine care and understanding for animals and their owners
Leadership and mentorship – capable of guiding and supporting a clinical team
Initiative and problem-solving – proactive in improving workflows and clinical standards
Collaborative mindset – strong communicator who works closely with both clinical and operational teams
Commercial awareness – comfortable engaging with performance metrics and hospital efficiency
Commitment to excellence – consistently delivering high standards of medical care and client service
