Our client is an independent, family-owned veterinary hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, offering the largest range of specialties in the country, including surgery, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, and emergency and critical care.
Due to rapid growth, the hospital is expanding into new purpose-built premises in central Auckland. This new clinic will complement an additional site in north Auckland, delivering the same exceptional veterinary care to clients and patients across the region.
We are seeking a Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care (part-time or full-time) to join the team at the new Auckland hospital site. You will work alongside the current ECC specialist to provide high-quality emergency and critical care services, support a growing caseload, and contribute to the development of the department.
This role is suitable for board-certified specialists (DACVECC, ECVECC, FANZCVS) or veterinarians who have completed residency training in ECC. Flexible arrangements, including long-term locum positions, may also be considered.
You are a motivated and experienced ECC specialist or residency-trained veterinarian with a passion for emergency and critical care. You thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, value professional growth, and are committed to delivering excellent patient care. You are comfortable working in a dynamic, high-volume clinical environment and mentoring colleagues as needed.
Auckland combines the benefits of a large city with a relaxed pace of life. You’ll be close to the Hauraki Gulf for boating, water sports, and swimming, enjoy subtropical bush for tramping, and ski slopes within driving distance. The city also offers world-class dining, shopping, cultural attractions, theatre, and festivals, making it an ideal location for both professional and personal fulfillment.

Full-time role with a four-day work week (long-term locum options also considered)
