This purpose-built specialist and 24-hour emergency hospital is a privately owned, non-corporate referral centre based in sunny Sydney, Australia. In addition to its flagship hospital, the group also provides a mobile specialist service supporting referring veterinarians across Greater Sydney.
The hospital is home to a team of over 180 dedicated professionals, including specialists in internal medicine, surgery, and diagnostic imaging, with further sub-specialties continuing to expand. A large, well-established emergency department is supported by 17 experienced emergency veterinarians, allowing specialists to focus on complex referral medicine without compromise.
What truly sets this hospital apart is its culture. The leadership team is deeply committed to supporting its people — ensuring specialists have the nurses, interns, residents, and equipment they need to practice medicine at the highest standard. The model is simple: let specialists do specialist work, and empower the wider team to shine.
The hospital maintains an exceptional nurse-to-specialist ratio (typically 2–3 nurses per specialist, plus interns and residents), with a dedicated intensive care unit and a brand-new ICU nearing completion, featuring integrated Menios ICU beds and Servo-U ventilators with high-flow oxygen capability.
An exciting opportunity exists for a Specialist in Internal Medicine to join this multidisciplinary referral hospital on a full-time basis. Part-time and locum arrangements may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
You will work alongside a highly collaborative group of specialists, emergency veterinarians, nurses, interns, and residents, with full access to an outstanding range of diagnostic and interventional capabilities. The hospital’s interventional radiology service is particularly advanced, performing procedures such as intra-arterial chemotherapy, prostatic embolisation, vascular stenting, endourology techniques, and select interventional cardiac procedures.
This is an environment where innovation is encouraged, collaboration is second nature, and professional development is actively supported.
You are an adaptable, open-minded internist who values teamwork and knowledge-sharing. You communicate clearly, enjoy collaborating across disciplines, and bring a sense of humour to your work. You are motivated to keep learning, refining your skills, and contributing positively to a high-performing clinical culture.
You will be either:
A Fellow of the ANZCVS, ACVIM, or ECVIM, or
Residency-trained in internal medicine with the intention to sit board examinations
Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to clinical excellence are essential.
