This role is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Specialist who is motivated to transition into senior clinical leadership while maintaining an active clinical caseload.
As Specialty Medical Director, you will help establish and oversee the medical direction and clinical standards of the hospital, working closely with hospital leadership and regional medical support. You will play a key role in mentoring clinicians, supporting training programmes, advising on best-practice clinical operations, and ensuring the highest level of patient care across services.
You will continue to practise within your specialty, contributing to complex case management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and referral relationship development, while being supported by experienced leadership and operational teams.
In addition to your veterinary qualifications, we are looking for someone who brings:
Board certification or residency training in a recognised veterinary specialty
Eligibility for veterinary licensure in California
A strong interest in clinical leadership and medical quality
Experience working in a high-volume emergency and specialty environment
A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary referral medicine
Confidence mentoring and supporting clinicians and trainees
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to professional integrity
