We are seeking an experienced Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) Nurse to join the emergency and ICU team on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will be a cornerstone of patient care, working closely with emergency veterinarians and specialists to manage critical cases from admission through stabilisation, diagnostics, treatment, and ongoing ICU care.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Triage and initial assessment of emergency patients

• Continuous monitoring of critically ill and hospitalised patients

• Management of ICU cases, including ventilated and high-dependency patients

• Placement and management of IV catheters, arterial lines, feeding tubes, and urinary catheters

• Administration of medications, CRIs, blood products, and fluid therapy

• Assisting with emergency procedures and surgeries

• Anaesthesia monitoring and support (experience here is highly valued)

• Operation and maintenance of advanced monitoring and life-support equipment

• Clear, compassionate communication with veterinarians and the wider nursing team

• Supporting junior staff and contributing to a calm, organised emergency workflow

This role suits someone who thrives in high-pressure environments and enjoys balancing multiple patients and priorities simultaneously.

• Qualified and licensed Animal Nurse / Veterinary Nurse / Animal Caregiver (Level 3 or equivalent)

• Proven experience in emergency and intensive care nursing

• Comfortable working both day and night shifts in a 24/7 hospital

• Highly organised with strong situational awareness in fast-moving environments

• Confident multitasker who can track patients, treatments, and clinician needs simultaneously

• Experience with anaesthesia and advanced monitoring is highly desirable

• Team-oriented, adaptable, and calm under pressure
