Our client is a well-established, progressive small animal hospital based in Galway, known for its collaborative culture and commitment to high clinical standards. The practice has built a strong reputation for delivering advanced veterinary care, with a growing caseload in oncology, orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery.
The team includes experienced general practitioners and visiting specialists, creating an environment where clinical discussion, development, and innovation are actively encouraged. The hospital is well-equipped to support complex medical and surgical cases and is keen to continue expanding its oncology services.
We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to support and eventually take over a caseload with a strong focus on oncology and soft tissue surgery.
You will have the opportunity to:
Manage and develop an oncology caseload, including medical and surgical cases
Perform a wide range of soft tissue surgeries
Work closely with both internal colleagues and external specialists
Contribute to the continued growth of advanced treatment options within the hospital
There is genuine scope to shape the direction of oncology services, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop or expand their niche interest.
We are looking for a motivated and clinically driven Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in soft tissue and oncology.
Ideally, you will have:
A few years of solid experience in small animal practice
A demonstrated interest in oncology and/or soft tissue surgery, a Cert or AVP status would be ideal, or a proven track record with a soft tissue and oncology caseload.
Postgraduate training or qualifications in oncology (certificate, internship, or similar) would be highly desirable
An interest in advanced techniques such as electrochemotherapy would be advantageous, but not essential
You will be someone who enjoys collaboration, is keen to continue learning, and is excited by the opportunity to help grow a specialised service within a supportive team.
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience – Circa 80,000 – 110,000 Euros’s P/A for a full time role.
Support for further training and development, including certificates
Opportunity to develop a niche in oncology
Collaborative and supportive working environment
Access to modern equipment and a varied caseload
